ASSASSINATED.
TWO IRAQ OFFICIALS. SHOT DOWN BY A SOLDIER. THE ASSAILANT ARRESTED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received August 13, 11 a.m.) BASRAH, August 12. Generra Kir Sldky, chief of the Iraq General Staff, and All Jowad, head of the Iraq Air Force, were assassinated at Masul when en route to attend the Turkish military manoeuvres. Sldky was shot down by a soldier and Jowad was Hilled when trying to save Sldky. The assailant was arrested.
