Friday, the Thirteenth. —For the first and only time this year Friday (to-morrow) will fall on the 13th day in the month, it is the day when superstitious folk will refrain from making important decisions, riding on trains or eating- mushrooms. These old beliefs have such a hold among some sections of the community that many people seem still to fear dire consequences from such actions. On the lhlh day of the month—in March and November—but there is only one such day this year. They will not be worried again until May, when the 13th again falls on a Friday—the only occasion next year.
