EXTENSION OF SERVICE. WAR OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENT. AN INCREASE IN RECRUITING. (Official Wireless.) (Received Aug. 12, 3.15 p.m.) RUGBY, August 11. There has been a quick respon-se to the announcement by the War Office of its intention to allow serving soldiers to extend their service. Within a few hours the first inquiries were received at the Central London Recruiting Department, and to-day many reservists called at the recruiting offices throughout the country.
