Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .OOin. Rainfall for August to date, .75tn. Average rainfall for August, 3.96in. Rainfall for year to date, 28.27in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThnmes Valley is as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate variable winds, with north - easterlies prevailing. Weather fair to cloudy and mild. S?as slight to moder- I ate. General Inference: The anti-cyclone which has been covering the Dominion during the past few days is now centred to the eastward, while a -shallow area of relatively low pressure is moving on to the southern portion of the South Island. Pressure is high over the whole of the Australian and New Zealand areas.
