To prevent rice from sticking, butter the saucepan before putting In the water in which the rice is to be cooked. To dust a room quickly, put a few drops of paraffin oil on the duster. This makes the dust cling to it, and Is easily shaken off. It is also good for the furniture. Never bang the oven door when baking cakes. It prevents them rising, and makes them very heavy. Also remember to spread the cake mixture evenly, and you will have a tidy, neatlooking cake. If you want a white doorstep, paint the step with flat white, which dries quickly.
