TE AWAMUTU NOTES.
SURPRISE PARTY. The many friends of Mrs 'K. Rickit gathered at, her residence at .Te Awamutu recently to celebrate her birthday. During the afternoon the entertainment took the form of community singing. Miss Elaine North danced and Mrs J. iO-liphanl -sang, both Items being warmly received. A beautiful box of violets was presented to Mrs Rickit with the good wishes of all present. The rooms were charmingly decorated with Iceland poppies and daffodils. Mrs Rickit received the guests wearing a frock of brown crepe de chine. Among those present were:—Mesdames R- Lord (Auckland). G. Connol, R. Dawson, L. Dunn, W. Jeffery, Raymond Jones (Auckland), P.
