NGARUA FUNCTIONS.
BUCOESBFUL EVENING. A very successful card and pingpong evening organised by the HalJ Committee was held In the Ngarua Hall recently. Many visitors were present from the surrounding districts, a very enjoyable evening resulting. The winners in the progressive 500 tournament were Mrs H. Scott and Mi T. Webster. At the conclusion of the card tournament supper was served by the committee, after which a series of i ping-pong games was played. Mr F. i Greenville had charge of the card- | room. BARN DANCE. Continuing the -series of old-time dances, the newly-formed Chudleigh Social Club held another very success- | ful function recently In Mr McGee’s barn. Visitors were present from Waitoa. Waihou, Springdale and Te Aroha West | Music was played by Mr T. Holmes and Mr J. Knyvett (accordion and j piano), and a novelty dance was won by Mr J. Knyvett and Miss M. Elmi- I ger. Supper was served by the ladies’ oommittee. Mr G. Reid had charge of the dance j floor
