PALACE OF ARTS.
APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 9. Major A. A. Longdon, formerly art adviser to the Department of Overseas Trade, who was responsible for organising the' exhibitions of Dutch, llalian, Persian and Chinese art at Burlington House, lias been appointed to direct the organisation of the Palace of Arts, which is to be a special feature of the great Empire Exhibition to be' held in Glasgow next year. The Palace of Arts will pass into the possession of the Glasgow Corporation as a permanent building at the conclusion of the exhibition.
