COUNTY COUNCIL AFFAIRB. DRAINAGE AREA RATES. (Special to Times.) OTOROHANOA, Tuesday. The ordinary monthly meeting- of the Otorohanga County Council was held today. Present were Messrs. \V. Pluck (chairman), F. Potts, W. Thompson, 11. Dymore-Browne, P. T. Crowley, V. W. Slimns, 11. E. Grierson, S. J. Fortescue (clerk) and G. Jackson (engineer). Since the previous ordinary meeting of the council, rates collected showed an Increase of £279, In comparison with the samo date last year. A subsidy of £925 on general rates was received from the Government. Each riding possessed a good credit balance. Thirty applications were received for the position of noxious weeds Inspector Tor the council, and Mr Noel Smith, of Otorohanga, was appointed to the posiKio Kio Drainage Area. It was decided to strike the Following rales over the Kio Kio drainage area: Tin*, total A class land will he rated 2 ir.-ir.d in the £: H Class. 1 7-12 d; and ■ class II - I2d in Die valuation roll. The total rate thus levied will amount to £si.
