Wise, at the Zionist Congress to-day, criticised Britain’s conduct as the Palestine Mandatory. He said Britain had not only failed to try, but had almost tried to fall. He accepted the principle of a new State, but not a divided Palestine. Rabbi Stephen Samuel Wise, of the Free Synagogue of New York is the founder of the Federation of American Zionists, and of the Zionist Organisation of America. He is chairman of the provisional executive committee of general Zionist affairs, and vicechairman of the Jewish Emergency Refugee Relief Committee.
