Another King Country player will s join the All Blacks in camp at Otaki _ this week owing to the selection of W. c J. Phillips as the additional player. C. A. Crossman (King Country) and e Phillips have been two very much discussed players and they were both n outstanding in the trials. Phillips toured Australia with the 1934 New Zealand Maori team and is a fine defensive player. TEST AT CHRISTCHURCH. PROVISION OF ACCOMMODATION. ALBERT GRAMMAR (Special to Times.) * AUCKLAND, Saturday. An open and thrilling college Rugby J match, the annual encounter between 5 Hamilton High School and Mount Al--3 bert Grammar School, provided abun--1 dant brightness for Eden Park spec- ) tators to-day, and after a fast pace had been maintained throughout, the Hamilton fifteen avenged the defeat of last season by scoring a victory by 11 points to 9. The match was played as the curtain-raiser. •Close scoring maintained excitement at a high pitch, especially in the final stages when each team took a turn in taking the lead. The first score was obtained by Hamilton, Cramp kicking a penalty , goal. Hard, forward play and bright back movements followed, and Mount 1 Albert worked Its way well into I-lam--1 ilton’s territory, this effort leading to 1 a try by I-lemus. Kingstone failed to convert. The score at the interval 1 was; t Hamilton High 3 r Mount Albert Grammar School 3 1 Fluctuating Fortunes. Soon after the start of the second ’ spell the Mount Albert forwards took the ball in a fine loose rush to within a few yards of their opponents’ line, ’ where Barr secured from a scrum and ~ dived over for a try. Kingstono’s at--1 tempt to convert was unsuccessful, the 1 ball hitting a post and rebounding. The Hamilton forwards followed up ’ a clearing kick, and McKenzie scored > for Cramp to convert. Five minutes r remained for play when Mount Albert 3 was awarded a penalty and Kingstone ' kicked a goal, giving liis side a onepoint lead. From the kick-off the Hamilton forwards followed through fast, and regained the ball in the Mount Albert twenty-five. Play went to the Mount Albert line, where Bullock threw himself over for the winning try. Cramp missed with the kick, and the game ended: Hamilton High School 11 Mount Albert Grammar School 9 Mr. V.
