Eight survivors were picked up by a customs vessel in Bias Bay from a wrecked seaplane, which was flying to ' Swatow with a crew of four and seven pasengers. Tel. Copyright. BRISBANE, August 8. Two Gipsy Moth aeroplanes engaged in a race to-day collided at an altitude of 200 l'eet. One machine crashed on the Rocklea show ground and caught ! lire, the pilot, Duncan Ferguson, aged j 35, being incinerated. The other aeroplane, although it was seriously damaged by the impact, was brought down safely at the Archerfleld aerodrome by the pilot, William Hill, who is suffering greatly from shock, but is not injured.
