AUCKLAND, Monday. “ Lofty ” BlomfleWy of Auckland, was disqualified in the seventh round of his bout with “King Kong” Cox. of America, in the Town Hall on Saturday evening for striking his opponent. Prior to the disqualification each man had obtained a fall. The first was won by Cox in the fourth round. He jolted the Aucklander several times prior to lifting him for a slam and body press. Blomfield drew level in the sixth round. A series of forearm jolts was followed by three flying tackles, each of which sent Cox sprawling, and Blomfield then finished with a body press. WOLF DISQUALIFIED. GISBORNE, Sunday. Kirilinko defeated Chief Little Wolf at the Opera House last night by two falls to one after seven rounds of hectic wrestling. Kirilinko scored a fall in the fourth round with a deathlock which he refused to release, the referee having to break the men apart. Chief Little Wolf was disqualified in the seventh round when he tied the Russian’s leg in the' ropes and would not let go. STEVE SAVAGE DEFEATED. WELLINGTON, Sunday. A professional wrestling contest held here last night between Frank Bronowicz, JGst., and Steve Savage, 15st., was won by the former by a surprise fall In the seventh round. Both men impressed with their workmanship. In another bout Frank Judson, 16st. 21b., beat George Walker, 15st., on points after each man had obtained a fall in the fifth and sixth rounds respectively. It was a colourless bout. The junior heavy-weight elimination contest for tlie New Zealand title was won by Snowy Bartlett (New’ Zealand). *J3st. 51b., from Peter Venter (South Africa), list., by a penalty fall in the’ second of three rounds. LEWIS DEFEATS WADE. DUNEDIN, Sunday. Tn a wrestling match held here last evening Ed. “Strangler” Lewis, 18st. Gib., took the decision against Glen Wade by two falls to one. The first fall went to Lewis In the third round with a body press, but Wade squared accounts in the next round when he lifted Lewis in a crutch hold for a heavy dump.
