Friday . 29.65 Saturday 29.90 Thermometer. Max. Min.. Thursday 54 45 Friday 44 40 Mean Temperature, 42 deg. The barometer reads 29.90 and has a rising tendenoy. Indications are for partly fair and partly cloudy weather today and to-morrow with oold temperatures, north - west winds and scattered showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o'clock this morning, .101 n. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .04in. Rainfall for August to date, .731 n. Average rainfall for August, 3.96in. Ralnraii for year to date, 25.251 n. Average yearly rainfall, 46.321 n. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong south-westerly winds reaching gale force in places but decreasing slowly. Weather cold and changeable with passing showers in many places but gradually improving. Some hard frosts are probable. Seas rather rough offshore. General Inference: An Intense anti-cyclone is located over south-eastern Australia and extends across the Tasman Sea while pressure is still very low to the east of New Zealand. Pressure is rising rapidly over the Dominion.
