“AT HOME."
ST. JANIES’ LADIES’ GUILD. The St. .Tames’ Ladies’ Guild gave an “At Home” on Wednesday afternoon in the new parlour and Bibleclass room, which was recently built by voluntary labour. As ibis was the first public function held in the new room, the Rev. Dayman extended a few words of welcome to visitors from Maeroa, SI. Paul’s and St. John’s, and also expressed gratitude to the donor of curtains and to Mrs Treloar for the gil'L of a beautiful water-colour, the first picture for the walls. Items were given by Mrs Bartlett (solo), Mrs Dixon (elocution), and a competition was won by Miss Law. Mrs Treloar gave a comprehensive and interesting demonstration on the making of flowers from wood-pulp, in which hPr audience showed keen interest. Several signified I heir intent ion of going on with the work. The sales t.ahle. did good business, and contributions will considerably augment the funds.
