Assurances that Britain had done her best under the Palestine mandate, which had proved unworkable, were given by Mr. W. Ormsby-Gore’ Colonial Secretary, during cross-examina-tion by the commission to ascertain whether the administration or mandate itself was at fault. Mr. Ormsby-Gore later left for London and will not return to Geneva until he Is needed.
