FARMERS’ KEEN INTEREST. ELECTRIFICATION OF WIRE. United Press Asm —Elec. Tel CopyrlghLONDON. August 5. Farmers are manifesting a very keen interest in a new type of American cattle and sheep fence. It is a single-wire fence. 1 Sin from the ground and electrified by an ordinary motor-ear battery serving 15 miles of wire. Animals touching the wire receive a harmless shock, which thev respect. It is believed to he more effective than hedges or barbed wire, it does not harbour vermin or rabbits. The fence has been awarded a silver medal by the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Society as the best laboursaving apparatus.
