Stormy and unsettled weather is indicated to-day and to-morrow, with lower temperature, north-west winds prevailing and heavy showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .04in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .OOin. Rainfall for August to date, .63in. Average rainfall for August, 3.961 n. Rainfall for year to date, 28.15in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.321 n. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Strong southwesterly winds of gale force in many places. Weather cold, changeable and squally with passing showers. Seas moderate to rather rough and increasing offshore. General Inference: Pressure is very low to the south and south-east but high over the western and northern portions of the Tasman Sea, an intense anti-cyclone still being located over Australia.
