BRIDGE PARTY FOR GUIDE FUNDS. The Te Awamutu Guide Committee held a very enjoyable and profitable 'bridge afternoon at the residence of Mrs C. Downes on Wednesday. During the afternoon auction bridge and euchre were played, the winners being Mrs Bluck and Mrs Quin, while Mrs Roberton won the hidden number.
The rooms were charmingly decorated with spring bulbs and Iceland popples. Credit is due to the committee for the admirable way in which the afternoon tea and other necessary arrangements had been attended to. Mrs G. Downes, the president, received the guests wearing a frock of brown and yellow crepe de chine. The committee present were: Mesdames C. Downes. M. Sullivan, White-
