WEDDING.
CROMBIE —DODUNBKI. The marriage was solemnised at St. Joseph’s Church, New Plymouth, recently, between Rita May, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Dodunskl, of Fitzroy, and John Hay, eldest son of Mrs J. E. Old and the late Mr J. H. Crombie, of Hamilton. The Rev. Father Phillips performed the ceremony. The church had been very prettily arranged with arum lilies and greenery by friends of the bride.
The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of soft ivory-tinted satin. The bodice, neckline and sleeves were designed in Tudor style, the high neckline being finished with Insets of lovely cream guipure lace and the yoke being gathered into a soft V shape with shirring. The skirt was simply out on the bias of the material and fell to form a fan-shaped train. She wore a beautiful veil of tulle and lace, held In place with orange blossom, and -carried a bouquet of freezias and carnations.
The Misses Connie Dodunskl (sister of the bride) and Dawn Old (sister of the bridegroom) were the
bridesmaids. They wore frocks of Buckingham lilac lace trimmed with frills of stiffened net, and coatees of stiffened net with large puffed sleeves, finished with posies of viftlets to match the violet velvet bows on their hats of pleated stiffened net. They carried bouquets of daphne and violets.
Mr Roydcn Crombie and Mr Arthur Crombie, of Cambridge (brothers of the bridegroom) were best man and groomsman.
Following the -ceremony a reception was held at the Mon Deslr, where the tables were decorated with a profusion of spring flowers and mimosa. Mrs Dodunski received the guests wearing an ensemble of royal blue marocain with hat and accessories to match.
Mr and Mrs J. H. Crombie left by car for the honeymoon, the bride wearing a London tan tunic frock with nigger brown fur cloth trimmings and hat and accessories to tone.
They will make their home at New Plymouth.
