More interesting to him Is the fact that a rich American patron. Charles Wlnnlger, is arriving with his sister, Helen Westley, and his daughter, Loretta "Young, and wishes a table reserved for every night. Thus, when Menjou wins enough at baccarat to cover his borrowings, and finds that his handsome young opponent, Tyrone Power, has not the money to cover his losses, he oan force Tyrone upon threat of exposure to the police to masquerade as His Highness, Prince Alexis Panaieff. in a scheme to win the affection of the lovely Loretta, and a marriage settlement from her father. Seeing through this strange Prino* from Princeton, whose accent “ now she comes, now she goes,” Loretta decides to be swept off her feet anyway, and fFom there on events mount In an Increasingly hilarious crescendo taking a final surprising turn in an ingenious conclusion which solves the personal problems of Loretta, Tyrone and Adolphe, convincing even the latter, that Romance To Order, should be listed on the Cafe Metropole menu as & “ specialty of the house.”

“ Farewell Again,” which will be presented by London Films, Is one of the most unusual films ever produced. It is based on a real news paragraph relating to an English troopship bringing back to Southampton a regiment returning from years of foreign service. As Ihe ship neared England It was learned that an emergency made it necessary for the regiment to reembark Immediately for further service abroad. For six hours only they were allowed leave at Southampton and the film deals with the reactions to this news and tho behaviour during the six hours’ leave of the "various men and their relations. Not only Is the picture exciting, but it shows a cross section of English life in a remarkably convincing manner. The characters of the various men -from the Colonel to the ranks are firmly established in the early sequences of the picture. Naturally everyone is longing to get home, many for private reasons less ostensible than, that of meeting their wives and relations, and how these men solved their problems in the short space of time allowed them makes an absorbing film. Leslie Banks, Flora Robson and Sebastian Shaw play tho leading roles. An American “ Cavalcade With Joel MoCrea and Bob Burns seleoted for the two most important male roles and other members of the cast fco be named in the near future, Frank Lloyd plans to start camera work within a few weeks on his next Paramount producion, “An Empire is Born,” story of Wells Fargo and one of the most Interesting chapters In American history, which is to be filmed by the noted producer and director along the lines of his famous “ Cavalcade.” In awarding to McCrea the leading role In “An Empire is Born,” Lloyd gave the young actor what is regarded as the most important assignment of his film career. Lloyd selected McCrea after careful study of his work with 'Barbara Stanwyck in “Student Doctors Can’t Take Mon*»y,” which lias Just arrived in New Zealand. In tho role of a pony express rider, Rob Burns, whose sudden rise to Him fame has been in comedy roles, will make his first appearance in a picture of dramatic plot. Burns will start work in “ An Empire is Born ” as soon as he completes his co-starring role with Martha Raye in •• Mountain Music.” now before the cameras In the Paramount studios under direction of Robert Florey.
