THE RESERVE BANK.
AN INCREASE IN DEPOSITS. RISE IN NOTE ISSUE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday. August 2, was gazetted to-night. .The statement is balanced at. £31,313,040, or £25,072 less than at the close of the previous week. Government deposits have increased during the week by £307,260, this movement following a rise of £296,077 in the. last previous return. Deposits of the trading banks are £32,037 higher. The note Issue Is £30,744 greater in value than It was a week before, while other demand liabilities have fallen by £394,124. The sterling exchange reserve has risen in value by £17,752.; advances to the Dairy Industry Account are £64,033 lower, while other assets have increased £22,273.
