RUGBY PROSPECTS

TO-MORROW’S GOOD FARE. OLD BOYS AND STARS CLASH. STAG TROPHY COMPETITORS. Following last week's keen matches in the district Rugby games, Interest in the Stag Trophy competition is very much alive and enthusiasts are eagerly following Frankton's endeavours to overhaul the leading Technical combination. Frankton will be seen in action again at Rugby Park on Saturday, and if late form is maintained the fifteen •should account for Marlst, whom they play at 1.15 p.m. Marlst, with a strong pack, are a difficult team to suppress, especially if the ground is heavy. Therefore a keen tussle can be anticipated. The major attraction in Hamilton will be played between Old Boys and Cambridge Stars, on No. 1 field at 2.30 p.m. Old Boys are at present third in the championship tally and with a neat combination usually provide bright, open football. Cambridge Stars are not as strong as they were earlier in the season, and may not withstand the Old Boys’ attack, but nevertheless will provide formidable opposition. Leaders at Te Awamutu. The championship leaders, Technical Old Boys, will meet Te Awamutu, at Te Awamutu, to-morrow, and enthusiasts in that town should see an exhibition of sparkling Rugby. Prospects favour Technical. Ngaruawahia Taupiri will meet Rovers, and this also should be a keenly-contested match, in which there will be very little separating the merits of the teams. Cambridge Blues have drawn a bye.
