NEW WAGES SCALE. AGREEMENT REACHED. CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS. (By Telegraph.—Special to TlmeO AUCKLAND, Friday. Ratifying the agreement drawn up in July last year, an agreement governing the wages and working conditions of dairy factory managers in the Auckland and Taranaki districts, was reached yesterday by the assessors in Conciliation Council and was confirmed by the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr R. E. Price. Assessors for the employers were Messrs F. H. Anderson, W. Y. iKlrkm&n, E. A. Collins and H. B. Blyde, and those for the employees were Messrs J. Murray, J. Thompson, J. Adams and W. L. liollin. The agreement made last year had been in force until July 1 last, and the new agreement will be retrospective to that date. As fixed in the agreement, the wages of butter factory managers whose output is under 100 tons will be £'275 per annum. For every additional ton, up to 600 tons, 6s will be added to the salary and a similar increase will be provided for factories of larger output. Cheese factory managers whose output is under 40 tons will be paid £225, with an increase for other managers according to factory production. Branch managers in cheese factories and milk powder factories will be paid in accordance with the above scale, less 10 per cent., providing the deduction does not bring the salaries below £3OO. General managers supervising dual plant and factory and branch managers shall be provided with a free residence. The agreement will come before the Arbitration Court at Auckland sitting on August 18 to be converted into an award.
