Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .56in. Rainfall for August to date, .59in. Average rainfall for August, 3.9 Gin. Rainfall for year to date, 28.ilin. Average yearly rainfall, 46.321 n. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly winds, reaching gale force in some exposed positions, and backing south-westerlies to-night. Weather clouding over, and rain developing. Temperatures becoming colder. Seas moderate. General Inference: A trough of low pressure with oentres to both north and south is crossing the Dominion, while an intense anticyclone covers Australia and extends on to the Western Tasman Sea.
