One of the many difficulties which beset factory managers in the early days of dairying in the Waikato was mentioned by a pioneer supplier recently who recalled the never-ending altercations which took place over the distribution of the skim-milk. At the creameries the milk was separated on the premises and to make sure of being quit of the skim the'managers adopted the policy of “first come, first served.” This always resulted in frequent arguments among suppliers when reputations and characters were shattered in a few well chosen, but highly libellous, adjecti\es.
