The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly sale in their Edgecumbe pig yards, when there was a good yarding of store pigs which sold at satisfactory prices, bidding being very keen from outside buyers. The following prices were realised: — Light baconers, £2 10s to £2 18s; porkers, £2 to £2 9s; large stores, 35s to 395; small stores, 25s to 345; slips, 20s to 245; weaners, 12s 6-d: to 19s; choppers, £3 2s 6d; sows to farrow, £3 5s to £4 ss, £3 10s, £4 15s; two at £7 and £6 ss. The New Zealand Loan _and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report as follows on their Cambridge horse fair held ye'sterday:—Although the entry numbered about 120 head and there were some good heavy horses in the draught and unbroken sections and some good hacks as well, competition throughout was sluggish. Vendors’ reserves were in most cases above offers and passings were frequent. A small proportion only changed hands and owing to the reticence of buyers the' sale was disappointing. Good heavy draughts made £34 to £37; medium farm draughts, £25 to £35; others to £24; good hacks, £9 to £l3 10s; others to £8; unbroken draughts, £25 to £32. MATAMATA QUOTATIONS. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their usual stock sale at Matamata yesterday when only a small yarding of fat sheep came forward, selling at firm rates. The usual cattle entry was forward, with fat cows and heifers in short supply, competition keen, and prices firm. Boners showed no alteration on late rates, while young cattle were in good demand. There was a smaller yarding of dairy cattle with competition for Jersey heifers, close to profit, keen, a good sale resulting. Backward and inferior cattle, although not so keenly sought, sold fully on a par with late quotations. A small entry of fat pigs sold well at late rates, while a large yarding of stores and weaners showed a considerable rise on late quotations. Heavy fat ewes made 30s to 31s Gd; light fat hoggets, 22s to 23s Gd.
