CONDITIONS IN BRITAIN. LESB MATERNAL MORTALITY. - TUBERCULOSIS RATE LOWER. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received August 4, 3.15 p.ra.) LONDON, August 3. The lowest tuberculosis death rate recorded is disclosed in the year's report of the Ministry of Health. There was less maternal mortality and steady progress in other branches of national health. Sir Kingsley Wood declared that English men and women, and particularly children, were enjoying a healthier and fuller life than at any time since the industrial revolution. The maternal mortality, 3.81 per thousand, was lower than four per 1000 for the first year since 1924. The improvements were attributed to better living habits, the removal of slums, and purer milk.
