Major alterations In trafflo regulations In Britain have been Instituted by the Minister of Transport, Dr. E. L. Burgin, whose request for co-opera-tion from local authorities is receiving a good response. The new scheme affects warning signs at road junctions. The changes to be carried out include:—The introduction of stopping lines in conjunction with the “ Halt at .Major Road Ahead " signs; tile erection of ’’halt” signs in future only With the Minister’s specific authority; studs at pedesti-ian crossings to be placed opposite each other in future, and no longer ‘staggered," to avoid danger to pedal cyclists.
