WOMEN’S DIVISION.
TATUANUI BRANCH. The Tatuanui branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its July meeting recently in the local hall, Mrs G. L. Kelk pre siding over a very good attendance of members. Mrs Kelk gave a report on the recent Dominion conference of the Women’s Division held in Wellington, which she attended. A circle to Instruct members in the art of woodpulp flowers was formed, and Mrs Seville, of Morrinsville, has offered to supervise. Dealing at length with the importance of racial purity, the president urged the branch to give every support to Dr. Doris Gordon, of Stratford, who is sponsoring a movement throughout New Zealand on the science of eugenics, not with the present intention of passing resolutions, but to inform and educate the people. The wandering shilling competition was won by Mrs J. Nola; in a flower competition Mrs Rushton was first; Mrs Hardaker was the winner of an art competition. The roll-call was, “My time-saver,” which was well answered and produced some very useful hints. The prize offered by the *-papeT, Point Blank, for the most progressive branch was won by Tatuanui. A donation was received from • the president. It was resolved that each member should try to obtain at least one new member. A most enjoyable afternoon was brought to a close with tea served by the hostesses, Mesdames Ellliott, Shirley, Billman and Frampton.
