FRANKTON HIBERNIANS.
SECRETARY'S SERVICES. PRESENTATIONS MADE. Mr J. T. Dwyer presided over a large gathering of members recently when the St. Columba’s branch of Hibernians met to honour its secretary, Mr J. D. Reynolds, for his seri vices over a long period. ! Messrs. Franch, G.P., E. R. Hay, ! G.S., Lonergan, G.V.P., and Jagusch, j G.T., represented the District Officers and visitors from Mount Kden an i ‘ Rotorua attended. Apologies were j received from branches at Onehunga, 1 Devonport and Thames. _ Mr Reynolds was presented with a framed certificate as a past president of the society. In making the presentation the chairman spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr Reynolds’ work. Tho reception of the certificate was accompanied by musical honours. Mr T. F. Wallace, who has given the i society yeoman service, also received : a present. Mrs Wallace was accorded, j with her husband, musical honours, for , her services. The following artists entertained during the evening:—Messrs, j Whitehead, Davys, Thomas (Rotorua), Molloy (Mount Eden), Gower and Gallagher. j The evening closed with toasts to the chairman and other officials who I had contributed to the success of the 1 gathering.
