WAIKATO ELECTORATES
BOUNDARY REVISIONS. PROPOSALS OF COMMISSION. NEW AREAS INDICATED. The proposed boundaries of the electoral districts of the North Island, as revised by the North Island Representation Commission, are dealt with at length in a special issue of the New Zealand Gazette, which has Just been published. Objections to the revised boundaries must be made In writing to the chairman of the commission before the end of this month. The proposed boundary of the revised Hamilton electoral distrlot runs from the intersection of Puketaha and Telephone Roads, along the Puketaha Road to Its Intersection with the Hamilton- Gordonton Road. The latter Is followed toward Gordonton as far as the first road on the left down whioh the boundary runs to the main river road. The latter is followed as far as Section 55, whence the boundary runs toward the river itself, as far as the boundary of Lots 27 and 39. From that point it crosses the river and follows the main road as far as Lot 22, Pukete parish, Walpa county, there crossing the railway line to the boundary of Lot 51 and proceeding west to the western boundary of Lot 52 (Pukete parish). From there the boundary runs south to the southern boundary of Lot -54 and then south-east, past Lots '57, 58, 67, Lot 2, D.P.2212 and Lot 80 (Pukete parish). From the latter point the line runs due south, Intersecting the Hamilton-Whatawhata Road and following the eastern boundary of Lot 94 (Pukete parish) to the •southern boundary of Lot 96. Hamilton and Waltomo. The boundary then strikes due southeast, crossing the Pirongia-Hamllton Road and proceeding a-s far as the main trunk railway-line. -Continuing south along the line, the boundary goes as far as the Koromatua Road, then due east, to the 'Great South Road and thence north-east to Peacocke’s Road. From that point the line goes slightly south-east, crossing the Waikato River again by Lot 2 (Kiriklriroa parish). The line then runs north-east, crossing the Hamllton-Rotorua Road at Lot 28 (Kiriklriroa parish), and thence east-nor’-east towards the iHamilton-Cam-bridge railway line, following the oourse of the Mangaonui stream. At the point where the railway orosses the stream, the line turns and follows the railway toward Cambridge as far as the south-east boundary of Lot 27 D.P. -6612 (Tamahere parish). Thence the boundary runs north-east along the Hamilton-Paeroa Road to Telephone Road again and along Telephone Road back to its intersection with Puketaha Road. The Waikato electoral, district, according to the Gazette notice, is npw bounded towards the north-west and east generally by the Raglan, Hamilton, Hauraki, Thames and Tauranga electoral districts boundaries, from the Walpa River at the southern boundary of Raglan county to the Mangapapa River in the Tapapa survey district. Thence the boundary runs by the northern boundary of Matamata county, to and along the "eastern boundaries of Taotaoroa and Maungatautarl ridings of that oounty, to and along the western boundary of the Matamata county as far as the northern boundary of the Orakau riding of Waipa county. The dividing line continues along the northern boundary of the -Orakau riding to the eastern and southern boundaries of Te Awamutu borough, following these back round to the southern boundary of the Mangapiko riding, Waipa county, and along that boundary to the Waipa River again. Raglan District. The Raglan district comprises the existing Raglan electoral district, less the whole of the Pukekura, Rangiaohia, Kaipaki and Mangapiko ridings of file Waipa county. This distrlot now includes that portion of the Rototuna riding of Waikato county and those portions of the Hamilton and Rukuhia ridings of Waipa county now excluded from the Hamilton electoral districts. Waitomo district comprises the existing Waltomo electoral district, less that part of the Waimiha riding of Taumarunui county lying between the existing Waltomo electoral district boundary and the northern boundary of Taumarunui county; less also that part of the Matlere riding of Ohura county lying between the existing Waitomo district boundary and the northern boundary of Ohura county; less also Te Awamutu borough. The Waltomo district now includes those parts of the Walpa and Wharepapa ridings of Otorohanga county lying between the existing Waitomo electoral district boundary and the eastern boundary of Otorohanga county.
