VALUES AT FRANKTON. FAT SIIEEP UNCHANGED. V PIGS IN KEEN REQUEST. A sharp rise in values for ox beet was a feature of the weekly Frankton stock sale to-day, good prime steers selling to £l4 17s 6d. Values generally advanced by 2s per 1001 b. The market was buoyant in other sections, where average supplies were available. Comprising some of the best quality cattle at the yards for some time, the bullock entry was in animated request, and a ready clearance was effected at improved prices In all cases. Best bullocks sold from £l2 to £l4 17s 6d. as against the top price of £l2 10s last week. Cows and heifers were similarly In demand, one pen of choice sorts selling at £ll. AH classes of cow and heifer beef showed a distinct improvement In values. There was a good attendance of buyers in the store cattle section and keen values again ruled. Although the sale was more variable than last week, quotations were well held In the fat sheep section and prices were practically on a par with late rates. Best wethers sold from 37s 6d to 41s 6d. while ewes met a keen trade and values generally were unaltered. There were no outstanding sorts available in the fat lamb section, where the market was again buoyant. Another short entry of fat pigs was in sharp request and values again moved forward, medium-weight baconers making to 83s. Quotations: Prime steers £l2 10s to £l4 17s 6(1. lighter £lO 10s to £ll 15s; extra choice cows and heifers £8 12s Cd to £ll. lighter £6 10s to £7 15s. fat £4 10s to £5 ITs 6d. Sheep: Extra prime wethers 36s Cd to 41s Cd, fat 32s Cd to 3is Cd, unfinished 30a to 325; extra prime ewes 29s to 335, fat 23s to 28s. unfinished 17s to 20s; prime lambs, 23s Cd to 30s. Pigs; Baeoners, COs to 83s.
