PLAYERS OUT FOR TEST. DURATION OF SPELLS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.. Tuesday. Questioned regarding the progress of injured Springboks. Mr. De Villlers, the assistant manager, stated that Du Toit, who broke two bones in liis back in the match at Sydney, will probably be able to play in two weeks’ time. He may have a practice run to-day. Though there had been no casualties in the New Zealand tour, Du Tolt, Broodrvk and SherifT would be prevented toy earlier Injuries from playing in the First Test against New Zealand, while Watt and Lawton were also doubtful. The remainder of the team were fit. No plan of campaign has been formulated for the week the team will spend at the training headquarters near Masterton prior to the First Test. No* announcement has yet been made regarding the duration of spells in the Manawatu match. This, Mr. De Villlers stated, would be the subject of mutual arrangement between the captains. M. M. Louw is receiving treatment for a slight chest injury and his brother. S. C. Louw, who was injured when playing in Queensland, is making his first New Zealand appearance tomorrow, as will Watt. The showgrounds are very dry and fast and in splendid order.
