BEQUEST TO ENGLIBH HOSPITAL. GRATITUDE FOR ASSISTANCE. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, August 1. The Dally Herald states that the late Mr. Walter Kirby, tenor, formerly of New Zealand, left £7OOO to the Wantage Cottage Hospital and £7OOO to the Wantage Townlands Charily. The secretary of the hospital told a representative of the Daily Herald that the late Lady Wantage invited Mr. Kirby lo sing at the Soldiers’ Home during the war, and apparently was so impressed that she helped him In his career. His bequests are believed to have been made in gratitude for that assistance.
