FLOYD MARSHALL BEATEN “STRANGLER” LEWIS APPEARS. (Special to Times). AUCKLAND, Tuesday. His weight announced at 18st. 1 Oil)-, Ed. "Strangler” Lewis, five times world champion made his first appearance in Auckland last evening when he defeated Floyd Marshall in the fifth round at the Town Hall. Marshall was thrown heavily with a series of headlocks and Lewis had no difficulty in securing a fall. Marshall, applied many elbow' jolts in the earlier rounds hut was no match for ihe heavier and more experienced Lewis. COX AND IVtoCREADY DRAW. !(By Telejrrnnn A*soclatior\* WELLINGTON, Monday. "King Kong” Cox again drew with Earl MoCready to-night, the bout going to eight rounds without a fall. Although the referee, Mr A. Jenkins, judged the points to be equal, Cox set the pace throughout, not giving MoCready a moment's respite. He took a good d*ul of punishment without any apparent ill effects, and repeatedly had Mo Cready in difficulties. The bout was a rough one, with muoh fisticuffs.
