COUNTRY STOCK SALES.
YARDINGS AT CAMBRIDGE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering -Company, Limited, report having held their usual stock sale at Cambridge yesterday, when a medium yarding of sheep, comprising mostly fats, - came forward, finding a ready sale with prices firm. The advertised line of ewes In-lamb realised 35s 6d. There was a good yarding of cattle with a few pens of fat steers and cows for which a good demand, was evident. Boner cows were also penned In good numbers, showing no alteration on late rates. Young cattle also sold well. A full yarding of store pigs was offered but very few fats came forward. Competition was keen and prices realised were on a par with late rates. Medium fat wethers made 37s to 37s 9 k d; lighter, 33s to 35s 3d; prime fat hoggets, 29s to 325; lighter, 22s to 265. Cattle: Prime light fat steers, £8 to £9 17s 6d; medium fat cows and heifers, £6 16s to £7 2s; lighter, £5 17s to £6 Is; killable, £4 15s to £5 11s; heavy boner cows, £3 14s to £4 6s; medium. £2 15s to £3 3s; lighter, 30s to £2 4s; sound young cows, £2 12s to £3 3s; twoyear empty heifers, £3 to £3 19s; yearling empty heifers, £2 10s to £3 12s. Pigs: Overweight baconers, to £3 17s; large stores, 29s to 375; medium, 24s to 265; slips, 22s to 295; weaners, 15s to 23s 6d; sows, £3 10s to £4 12s 6d. VALUES AT OHINEWAI. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report, having held their monthly Ohinewal stock sale yesterday, when a medium entry of all classes of cattle came forward. Competition for beef was not keen and recent quotations were just maintained. Store cattle were penned in good numbers, but were hard to quit. A smaller entry of dairy ra!tic sold at unchanged rates. Medium prime cows made £7 10s: heavy sound quality. £5 to £5 16s: fat Jersey heifers, £5 5s to £6; fat Jersey cows. £i 10s to £5 Ss: f.c. COAVS. £3 10s to £4 15s: boners. £2 2s to £3 8s: two-year Polled Angus steers. £7 I Is: two-year Jersey steers. £i to C 4 ss: cows and cnives, £4 to £6 IDs: Friesian and Polled Angus yearling steers, £4 to £i 2s 6d.
