The Peking correspondent of the Daily Telegraph helped to bring in wounded -Chinese who were lying in hundreds on the Nanvuan battlefield., ignored by local inhabitants. Every officer and man in two battalions were killed or wounded. Only 100 of 2000 wounded in Peking were able to help themselves. The others had succumbed or -committed suicide.
