STAG TROPHY GAMES.
FRANKTON BEAT LEADERS. OLD BOYS’ GOOD FORM. The games played in the Stag Trophy competition in Hamilton and other districts on Saturday produced Rugby of a high standard and some upsets kept the crowds on their toes. In Hamilton two first-class games we-re played on No. i ground but the attendance was distinctly disappointing. The light Frankton team gained a meritorious defeat over the Technical Old Boys’ team who had only suffered one other defeat. Old 'Boys showed excellent form tc give Cambridge Blues the biggest beating they have yet received. In ooth these games the teams threw the Dali about well and exciting play was witnessed. In the other centres when Taiupiri defeated Cambridge Stars and Te Awamutu beat Rovers, the games were also of a high standard and full descriptions appear below. Results:— Frankton 10, Technical Old Boys 6. Old Boys 28, Cambridge Blues O. Te Awamutu 13, Rovers 0. Tauplrl 8, Cambridge Stars 3.
