INVITATION TO AUSTRALIA. A TENTATIVE ACCEPTANCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. A team representative of the Dominion’s surfmen is to go lo Australia next February, the council of the New Zealand Life Saving Association having tentatively accepted an invitation to send a team of 10 men and a
manager. Mr. G. Miller, the secretary of the Australian body, in officially extending the invitation, said it was desired that, the team should make appearances at Saturday afternoon carnivals on February 19 and: 20, and at a night earnl-. val at Coogee in that week. The amount of financial assistance the Australian body is prepared to offer is not definitely settled, hut it is definite that they will pay for all accommodation for the team when in Australia, and also give some assistance in the matter of transport from and to New Zealand. it is hoped to have teams present at I lie carnivals representing Hie various Australian Slates.
