An unknown submarine attaoked two Spanish tankers and the cargo boat Andutzmendi within Frenoh waters. The Andutzmendi is ablaze and twenty of the crew are missing. The remaining eleven managed to reach the shore, taking refuge at Nimes. Crew shot Down. The Times correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says the captain of the Andutzmendi, Abdulio Castel, stated that he was proceeding In ballast with a crew of 31 from Barcelona to Marseilles when two submarines of indistinguishable nationality closed In to thirty wards from the ship and shot down several of the crew with a machine-gun volley before the' captain could even signal. A panic broke out and a number of survivors jumped overboard, while others took refuge in the holds. The captain stood helpless on the poop of the unarmed vessel while the submarine's fired on her with machineguns and incendiary shells for 45 minutes, inflicting heavy damage and setting fire to the ship. The captain launched a lifeboat, In which he and five officers and two seamen reached Sainte's Maries de la Mer, all hurt. The Ship Sinking. The wreck burned all night and the ship is now sinking off Espiguette lighthouse. Three bodies have bee'n washed ashore. MORE BODIES RECOVERED. A SEAMAN DECAPITATED. THE WHITE FLAG IGNORED. Stretcher-bearers of both sides accompanied -by doctors and nurses, are moving unmolested over the battlefields identifying hundreds of dead and collecting wounded.
