NO MORE TO QUALIFY. LATEST NAZI EDICT. (Times Air Mail Service.) LONDON, July 6. No more Jew-s will be allowed to qualify as doctors in Germany, and medical degrees already granted to Jews are not to be renewed, says the London Daily Herald. A decree to this effect, Issued yesterday by the Minister of Education, Dr Rust, is one of several indications that the Nazis are not relaxing their anti-Semitic campaign. Another decree ends speolal privileges granted to Jews in Upper Silesia under the Geneva Convention, which expires on July 15. Must Retire. Civil servants who are full-blooded Jews must retire on August 31, and half-Jews on December 31. Jewish doctors employed in publio hospitals must retire on September 30. All full-blooded or half-Jews w’ho work for publio insurance companies must resign, except in the cases of ex-servicemen or those who had relatives killed in the war. At Karlsruhe, a court has ruled that association with Jews is sufficient ground for the dismissal of a civil servant. The ruling was given in the case of a burgomaster, who had business dealings with a Jewish cattle dealer. Hitler Oath. Dr. Karl Jaspers, one of Germany’s leading philosophers, and Dr. August Grisebaeh, professor of art history, have been dismissed from Heldelburg University. “Simplification of administration” was Ihe reason given. Both are married to Jewesses. , The Minister of Culture of Wurtemberg has ordered the dismissal of pastors and priests teaching in State schools who failed to take the public servants’ oath promising obedience to Hitler, or who made the oath with reservations Nazi teachers are to replace priests who have not taken the oath (telephones our Berlin correspondent).
