Freddie Bartholomew’s money troubles culminated in the announcement by his Aunt Mylliecnl. that he may abandon his screen career and go to England “in order lo go to school and lead a normal life." Aunt Myllicent said she was disappointed at the refusal of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Company to increase his salary to 2500 dollars a week from 1100 dollars, which lie is paid at present. The cost of Ids guardianship and litigation had left Freddie only a fragment of his earnings. " H is no good continuing unless (he future is more, assured." she said. " Neither of us has found happiness in Hollywood. We will nol return if we go to England. Freddie could always malic good after completing his education.
