In a message to the Governor of Northern Ireland the King said: “ The Queen and I will always remember this day spent among our people of Northern Ireland. It was a moving experience for us to see their traditional loyalty, manifested in the vast cheering crowds and the beautifully decorated streets. It was also a great happiness to us to receive their truly affectionate greeting. “ Please tell the people of Northern Ireland how deeply grateful we are and how much we enjoyed our visit.” THE DUKE OF GLOUCESTER. A systematic inquiry has been begun by the Belfast police and the border authorities into the origin of yesterday’s outrages. More than 12 men are already in custody. A state of tension and uneasiness prevailed in Belfast all night, but the only violence was the hold-up of a constable at Delville Park by six men, who appropriated his revolver. Two suspects were arrested.
