The injured man lives inland from Jerusalem and at this time of the year the homestead is not accessible by a motor vehicle. Dr. W. J. Feltham, of Raetihl, who was called to attend Mr Davey, motored to below Pipiriki and completed the last part of the journey on horseback. The doctor found the patient suffering from a severe wqund in the chest and in such a condition that it was dangerous to move him over the rough journey to the main road.
