PAYMENT FOR CHEESE.
TATUA COMPANY'S SEASON. DISSATISFACTION EXPBESSED. (Special to Times.) MORRIXSVILLE, Thursday. An estimated average pay-out of 13.50 d per lb butterfat with the actual final pay-out for the season amounting to li. IG5d per lb. butterfat Is Indicated by the directors of the Tatua Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, in their annual report to he presented at the annual meeting of the company on August 5. Suppliers have received an average payment over all grades of 12.941 d. The estimated surplus will allow a further distribution of 1.449 d. bringing the pay-out for the season up to 14.39 d.
‘‘The past year has been the first under Government control, and we regret to report that it has this year resulted in a substantially lower return to the cheese suppliers than would have been obtained on a free market,” state the directors. ‘‘We have made every effort to secure recognition of suppliers' claims for adjustment and It rests with suppliers as to whether they will accept without protest such an unfair proposition or make representations with the object of obtaining more equitable consideration.”
A dividend of 2J per cent, on paid up capital Is recommended.
A total of 1091 tons of cheese was manufactured by the company during the year, the equality of the product being well maintained.
