SQUADRON-LEADER CHANDLER. RETIREMENT ANNOUNCED. (By Telesrrnnh—prf»«=s Association.) BLENHEIM, Wednesday. Squadron-Leader N. E. Chandler, pilot-instructor of the Marlborough Aero Club and virtual founder of the club, has announced his retirement from the position in order to enter private* business. Squadron-Leader Chandler, who is one of the best known aviators in New Zealand, served in the Royal Flying Corps during the war and subsequently was an officer in the New Zealand Territorial Air Force'. Forseeing ihe possibilities of the Government’s subsidised aero club scheme, Squadron-Leader Chandler in 1928 look Iho initiative, forming the j Marlborough club and lie' lias been pilot-instructor ever since. lie has ! over 4000 hours’ flying to his credit land has trained nearly too pilots.
