ABDUCTION STORY. JAPANESE BLUEJACKET. CHINESE MAYOR SCEPTICAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.* WELLINGTON. Tuesday. The Chinese Consul received this morning a cablegram from Nanking stating that tho Norlli china situation had taken a grave I urn for Iho worse as a result of the Japanese infan try and aerial attack on Lanfnng on the Peiping railway, midway between Peiping and Tientsin. TL was mentioned in Iho message that the Japanese Consul-General, Mr Okamolo, saw the. acting Mayor, Mr Yu llongehun, yesterday and exos c authorities’ assistance in investigating Ihe strange disappearance of a bluejacket, Miyazaki, and requcslcd that the investigations be continued. The Mayor, in replying, pointed out an important fact which rendered it difficult to believe the story of Miyazaki’s alleged abduction by unknown Chinese.
