Rainfall for year to date, 27.01in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. BPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Vnlley fs ss follows Forecast: Moderate to strong westerly winds of gale force in places, later backing to southwesterly. Weather cold and changeable, with occasional passing showers. Sharp frosts probable in places. Seas rather rough to rough. General Inference: An anticyclone extends from Australia, where pressure has risen considerably. A rather deep secondary depression was, however, crossing the southern portion of the South Island early this morning, and It is probable that other secondaries will follow it.
