It is reported from To.klo that the Domel Agency says that Lieutenant-General Katsukl, commanding In North China, hae sent an ultimatum to Sung Cheh-yuan, Governor of Hopei, demanding the withdrawal of all troops from tha Peking area by noon on July 28. The Japanese have occupied Lang Fang and the Chinese are retreating toward Huantsun. A later message states that after fighting in the Wang Ping area strong forces of Japanese, marching through the Chang Y'imen Gate, entered Peking after resistance, and are now controlling the street ’nside 300 yards from the gate.

A message from Naklng states that a representative of the Chinese 29th Army reports that 500 Chinese were killed at Lang Fang. According to a message from Shanghai Governor Sung Cheh-Yuan is reoorted to have ordered the 38th Division to counter-attack to-night aud recapture Lang Fang.
